The Labrary at M Bloc Design Week 2024

The collaboration between VERSHOME, Desain Interior-Universitas Taruma Nagara and Playo arose from concerns about sustainable materials in Indonesia’s creative industry, leading to the creation of ‘The Labrary’, a space that combines a laboratory and a library.

Designed by VERSHOME with a “smart modular design,” The Labrary focuses on beauty, functionality, and sustainability, allowing for easy assembly and disassembly to minimize waste. Students from Desain Interior Untar gained practical experience by exploring alternative materials, bridging the gap between theory and real-world application.

Playo curated various sustainable materials for the space, showcasing works like as Arkatana and KidEco Set, which are both products of the collaboration with Desain Interior Untar. The Labrary not only exhibits innovative designs but also educates visitors on the importance of sustainable practices, highlighting the potential of collaboration between education, industry, and the creative community to address environmental challenges.
